Entry: wet sieving

URI: https://data.geoscience.earth/ncl/ProcessingActivityType/wetsieving

Sieving is the sizing of particules by means of screens or sieves. Particles with a size larger than the screen or sieve opening are said to form the oversize fraction, the others form the undersize fraction. Used when dry sieving cannot produce an adequate degree of separation between the individual fractions. Often used for the size range from 20 micro-meters to 20 mm.
