The ModelView approach is a creation by EPOS Thematic Core Service on Geological Information and Modelling aiming at providing descriptive information on 3D/4D models. It builds on GeoSciML Lite philosophy which is best thought of as a view of GeoSciML and O&M data that denormalizes the data and concatenates complex property values into single, human-readable, labels and returns single, representative, values from controlled vocabularies for properties multi-valued properties that can be used when generating thematic maps, or portrayals, of the data. The rationale targetted for ModelView is to have a complete corresponding UML model describing 3D/4D Models based on Observations and Measurements and the ModelView being a simplified View to support discovery of 3D/4D Models. ModelView triggered to move the original GeoSciML Lite philosophy from SF-0 to SF-1 to allow some element to appear multiple time. 20210305-S.Grellet : BoreholeView and GeologicUnitView moved to https://data.geoscience.earth/def/epos-geosciml-lite.xsd according to meeting decision 20210429 20210305-S.Grellet : More thourough description of ModelView now available on EPOS TCS GIM public gitlab repo https://gitlab.brgm.fr/brgm/epos/epos-tcs-gim 20210901-S.Grellet : aligning xsd with revision r392 of the model which introduces ModelRepresentationView and slims down ModelView accordingly. Thus bumping xsd version to 2.0.0 20211126-S.Grellet : Aligning with spec 2.1.0 with the introduction of references to codeList registries base URIs. 20211129-S.Grellet : Aligning with spec 2.2.0 adjusting references to 2 codeList registries base URIs (ModelStatus and ModelPurpose). 1 Simplified view of a Model. A model is defined as the result of geoscience data processing or interpretation. Proposing either a spatial distribution of geoscientific objects with properties of interest (feature) or attempt of retranscribing natural/man-made behaviour through mathematical functions or algorithms (process). Creation date of the model. Date of release of the model. Date of update of the model. Version tag of the model regarding its descriptive informations. Purpose for which the model was done. Controlled vocabulary to be consolidated: scientific study, mining, oil reservoir, geotechnics, hydrogeology, simulation... . https://data.geoscience.earth/ncl/ModelPurpose Status of the model. Controlled vocabulary to be consolidated : ended, in progress, in development... . https://data.geoscience.earth/ncl/ModelStatus Author of the model. Should be in the form of URI (ex : ORCID, ResearcherID, ...). Organization involved in producing the model. Financing project for which the model has been made. Polygon for the flat 2D projected hull / perimeter along with its SpatialReferenceSystem (SRS). Minimum value for the vertical axis according to the vertical SRS. This value should be expressed in a 1:1 scale (not taking into account any multiplication factor). Maximum value for the vertical axis according to the vertical SRS. This value should be expressed in a 1:1 scale (not taking into account any multiplication factor). URI to the description of a spatial reference system of the verticalMin and verticalMax values. The SRS will be a one dimensional vertical SRS. Accuracy of the positioning of the model with regard its geometry. Reference to entries in a geographical gazeetteer (ex : Geonames) describing the area concerned by the model (France, Paris basin, …). Feature which is the target of the modeling act (i.e = features which geometry or properties we try to compute). Feature which is the target of the modeling act (i.e = features which geometry or properties we try to compute). Software, tool, plugin used to do the modeling A representation of the model. Simplified view of a ModelRepresentation. A model representation is defined as a discreticized derived product from a model to make it accessible to human or specific tools.
